Just when can a President be blamed for influence on the economy?
It is true that when a new President takes office it is always in January of the new year and it may take a month or two for official policy to get rolling. The fact of the matter is that America does pay attention to what is taking place during the campaigns and what promises are made, and when the election takes place people in business and in the investment world start to take measures to brace for up and coming policy changes that may affect they business. So, Mr. President, you began to influence the economy on November 5th 2008 not February 2009.
